70 NSCN-IM terrorists attack IRB post in Manipur



70 insurgents attacked the Nungkao post of 7 Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) in Noney district of Manipur. The insurgents who overpowered the security forces also snatched their weapons.

The incident happened around 11 am today. About 70 full armed cadres of NSCN(IM) barged into 7 IRBs and overpowered the security forces and also snatched their weapons.

Following the incident, reinforced team of Manipur police has been rushed to the spot.

Incidentally, this shocking incident took place while there is a 24-hours bandh in the state against militant activities.

There has been a surge in incidents of looting of cash vans and weapons in past few months.

Manipur is scheduled for elections around February next year and this is expected to play a crucial role in the issues of campaigning.

It is combined post of 6th Manipur Rifles and 7th Indian Reserve Battalion
