8 Fighter Jets along with SuryaKiran,AkashGanga,Sarang Acrobatic Teams of IAF to take part on the eve of Biju Centenary Celebration on Dec 23





Three lakh people to witness Air Show by Indian Air Force at Kathjodi river bed on Dec 23 to mark Biju Centenary Celebration. Surya Kiran, Akash Ganga and Sarang teams of the IAF will take part in the 1-hour Air Show in Cuttack which will begin at 11.30 AM .
 A total of 8 fighter jets of the Indian Air Force will take part in the 1-hour Air Show in Cuttack.

Cuttackias – the denizens of Odisha’s old capital as fondly referred to – and people from the surrounding areas would get a rare chance to witness the spectacular air show in the skies above the Kathajodi river as part of the Biju centenary celebrations this Friday.

For the aerobatic show, the state government has announced to shut the schools and colleges in the city for the day.

A meeting review in this regard was held at the state secretariat here presided over by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi.

Heads of various departments and Air Force were present in the meeting.



While the state government has earmarked a provision of Rs 65 lakh to be spent on the show, it would make necessary arrangements so that around 3 lakh people witness the show.

Three fighter jets – Akash Ganga Aerobatics, Surya Kiran Aerobatics and Sarang Aerobatics – will take part in the show.



The hour-long airshow would begin at 11.30 am where eight jets would peform the aerial acrobatics.

Ahead of the mega event to commemorate the birth centenary of the legendary leader Biju Patnaik, Indian airforce jets are already seen practising eyecandy maneuvers in the skies  Odisha since 2 days.

Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Sports and Youth Service Department, Vishal Kumar Dev, Police Commissioner YB Khurania, DCP Sanjeev Arora and senior officials of district administration yesterday visited the venue to inspect and supervise arrangements for passage of the show without much hickups.
