SP Vaid appointed as New DGP of J&K


SP VAID is a 1986-batch IPS officer
The J&K Cabinet which met in winter capital Jammu on Wednesday appointed S P Vaid as the new Director General of Police K. Rajendra Kumar.
Vaid has replaced current DGP, K Rajendra, who is retiring at the end of this month
Official sources told that the cabinet which met under the chairpersonship of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti decided to appoint SP Vaid as the new DGP of the state.
Vaid is a 1986-batch IPS officer of J&K cadre who is presently working as Special DGP (Law and Order).
Education minister and government spokesperson Naeem Akhtar confirmed to KNS that Vaid has been appointed and the new DG of J&K police. He also said the Cabinet has also given nod to the speech of Governor N N Vohra, which he will deliver before the forthcoming Budget session.
