What will happen if another 26/11 type terror attack occurs on Indian soil? What Will be India's response??
The Indian govt has clearly pronounced its strategic doctrine (right after the 26/11 attacks) that further terror attacks in any Indian city on the scale of 26/11 (or even at a lower intensity than 26/11) will be dealt with firmly.
The message to Pakistan is very clear.
In the 21st century, the 26/11 terror attack is quoted an one of the best examples of ‘asymmetrical warfare’ waged by non-state actors sponsored by an enemy state. India’s response in dealing with the attack by launching simultaneous commando raids at multiple locations (Nariman House, Hotel Taj and Hotel Oberoi Trident) also shows the country’s strategic capabilities in carrying out counter-terror operations in a densely populated urban environment with well organised Command & Control (C&C) and well managed logistics.
It shows India’s coming of age in urban counter-terror combat and puts India’s Special Forces at par with that of USA, Russia and Israel. But, as stated by former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in the aftermath of 26/11- “It will be extremely difficult for India to maintain restraint in case of further 26/11 type attacks (or even at a lower scale than that) on Indian soil. India will be forced to react and take appropriate action at the strategic level in case of further escalation”.
The message is very clear. India may launch heavy air strikes and guided missile bombardment on terrorist camps inside Pakistan and POK if another 26/11 takes place. India has a well-connected network of ‘spy-satellites’ equipped with high-resolution cameras monitoring the terror camps and logistics located inside Pakistan and POK 24*7. The GPS coordinates of the terror camps and Pakistani military installations aiding the camps are well known to our intelligence agencies. India having a devastating arsenal of supersonic cruise missiles; hypersonic tactical ballistic missiles; long range ground based multi-barrel artillery rocket launchers; Jaguar, Mig-29, Mirage-2000 fighter bombers and Sukhoi-30 air superiority fighter jets armed with deep penetration bunker-busting bombs, laser guided bombs, long range glide weapon systems and Beyond Visual Range (BVR) Air-to-Air missiles, is a no match for Pakistan.
If India chooses to open up heavy aerial/naval and missile bombardment of Pakistani terror camps, it will literally vaporise the targets within a few hours and also cause massive damage to Pakistani military infrastructure (as stated by our previous air-force chiefs). So, let’s hope that Pakistan doesn’t dare to open the lord’s 3rd eye with another 26/11 type attack on our soil. It will be absolutely suicidal for Pakistan to do so, as the ensuing Indian military responses will literally fry-up the small Islamic state like a piece of cake. :-
