Alert sounded at IAF base in Kashmir’s Awantipora after radar system develops snag




 An alert was sounded at the Indian Air Force base in Awantipora of South Kashmir’s 
Pulwama district on Wednesday night when the radar system reportedly developed a snag and stopped functioning. Civilians working at the IAF base said that the radar system abruptly stopped functioning on Wednesday night, triggering panic among soldiers and employees. They said that an alert was sounded and soldiers as well as employees were asked to take positions in underground barracks. 

TOTAL CHAOS AT THE BASE

 “There was a total chaos at the base. Soldiers went into underground bunkers, while civilian employees moved to other safer places,” said a local. When station commander of the IAF base in Awantipora was contacted by India Today, he was not available for comment. Other officers in the station neither denied nor confirmed the incident
