Bangladesh tests FM-90(Export Version of Chinese HQ-7 A) air defence system



Bangladesh Armed Forces has conducted its first live-fire exercise for its new FM-90 air defence system (export variant of Chinese HQ-7A) on Tuesday morning at Inani Beach in Cox’s Bazar.
That was reported by dhakatribune.com.
The FM-90 missile has a range of 15km radius, and 25km radar and is capable of shooting down hostile aircrafts and cruise missiles. The missile is highly sophisticated and its performance is unaffected by adverse weather and light conditions.

Bangladesh Army stated the missile has greatly augmented our country’s air defence system. The missile has been part of the arsenal of Bangladesh Air Force and Bangladesh Navy for some time now.
The test launch was conducted by the Adhoc Air Defence Artillery Regiment. Army Chief of Staff General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq and other senior military staff supervised the launch.
The missile was approved for the army’s Short-Range Air Defence (SHORAD) system back in February 2016.

China on Tuesday unveiled its J-20 stealth fighter jet at its biggest air show which will have major implications for India as it is the first indigenously-made fifth-generation Chinese aircraft which Pakistan has shown interest in acquiring. Two J-20 aircraft which made waves in the Chinese media in the last few years flew at the Zhuhai city air show where the Pakistan Air Force is also taking part flying with its J-17 Thunder jets which are jointly manufactured with China. Kanchan Armour is the name informally given to a modular composite armour developed by India. The armour uses the same principle as the British Chobham armour, but the composition is different. The armour got its name from Kanchan Bagh, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, where the Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory (DMRL) is located.
