BJP's Kolkata headquarters attacked by TMC student wing after Sudip Bandyopadhyay's arrest in CHITFUND SCAM which may lead to Terrorist groups funding by TMC
Contingents from the TMC and BJP clashed in front of the headquarters.
A large police contingent has reached the spot.
Earlier today, the CBI arrested Sudip Bandyopadhyay in connection with the Rose Valley chit fund scam.
The Rose Valley Group of Companies is an alleged Ponzi firm which has duped investors in West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Jharkhand, Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Tripura and Andhra Pradesh of nearly Rs 17,000 crore.
West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee reacted strongly to the news of Bandhyopadhyay's arrest and attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of using the "CBI, ED, IT to scare those who raise voice against demonetisation," and daring him to arrest her too.
Congress leader RS Surjewala also criticised the PM, and asked why BJP MP and Union Minister Babul Supriyo wasn't arrested after his named was dragged into the Rose Valley chit scam by TMC MP Tapas Paul on Sunday.
