Isro to launch 103 satellites in the year 2017




Satish Dhawan Space Centre Director P. Kunhi Krishnan said success of every mission is important to them and expressed confidence in achieving more mile stones in 2017.

Speaking to this newspaper on Friday, he said the first launch for the year is going to be PSLV-C37 with a whopping 103 satellites including Cartosat-2D in January 27.

The other satellites are commercial satellites belonging to different countries. According to the Director,  Isro has been gearing up to launch 4 missions in the first half of 2017. They include PSLV-C37 with 103 satellites on board, GSLV-Mk-111 developmental flight with 3.2 tonne weighing GSAT-19E in March and two more missions thereafter.

The other two launches are GSLV Mk-1 during the end of March followed by PSLV-C38. Multiple mission campaigns are going on activities are in full swing in all the centres of Isro and also at Shar, Mr Kunhi Krishnan said
